Chicken Teriyaki Burgers with Sesame Slaw

Chicken Teriyaki Burgers with Sesame Slaw

These were really great, I'd definitely make them again. They were a little salty though but I think it's because I used the Walmart brand teriyaki sauce and it might just be from that. My husband and I just had burgers and a couple of fries, but this was my sons plate and he's always extra hungry so he got apples and peanut butter too!

Chicken Wontons in Spicy Chili Sauce

Chicken Wontons in Spicy Chili Sauce

This was AMAZING. So good. Definitely going in our rotation. It's super fast and super easy. The only changes that I did was I only used 8oz of white mushrooms and I added a bag of "super blends" (cabbage, broccoli etc) in the last minute of cooking time. I also added a squeeze of tubed minced ginger just because we already had it. It would of been amazing if I made it as written, I just wanted to add a little more veggies and stretch it a little more.

Hello Fresh Pork Chops in Cranberry Shallot Sauce with Garlicky Roasted Potatoes & Green Beans

Hello Fresh Pork Chops in Cranberry Shallot Sauce with Garlicky Roasted Potatoes & Green Beans

These were pretty good, the cranberries were perfect today because it was the first time it felt like Fall here today. It wasn't really a sauce though, at all. It was delicious but I wish it was saucy. Maybe I cooked it too long, but it didn't seem like I did. I'm not sure I'd get this recipe again, I think I'm coming to the realization that none of us really care for pork chops! I always had picked them for Hello Fresh because I never make them, but I think I won't get pork chops anymore.

My son grew a watermelon in the garden! I think we started it too late because it's not very sweet, but it was still fun to do!

Hello Fresh Meatloaves with Creamy Thyme Sauce

Hello Fresh Meatloaves with Creamy Thyme Sauce

This was really good, I would definitely get this recipe again! I added some of the thyme sauce to the brussel sprouts because they were bland, and my husband, who hates brussel sprouts said they were "ok". So that's a win lol. This was my sons plate and he had some toast because I didn't think he'd eat the brussel sprouts. This would be easy to recreate and I never thought of making a thyme sauce like this before.

Hello Fresh Garden Spinach Ricotta Ravioli

Hello Fresh Garden Spinach Ricotta Ravioli

Hello Fresh ravioli dishes are always fantastic. This one was no exception, even though I forgot to include the sour cream into the sauce! Oh well I saved calories and it was still delicious.

Tomato Pie

Tomato Pie

We have a ton of tomatoes this summer, so I made some tomato pie. This was only the second time that I've ever had it, but I love it. Unfortunately, no one else in my family does. My son says he doesn't like tomatoes unless it's a sauce, and my husband just didn't really care for it. Oh well, luckily it's just like a once a year thing. I combined these two recipes. Basically I salted the sliced tomatoes and let them sit for like 10 minutes. Then I layered the tomato slices with a bit of cooked bacon between each slice. Then I topped it with the cheese/mayo mixture that had fresh basil!

Hello Fresh Honey Butter BBQ Pork Chops

Hello Fresh Honey Butter BBQ Pork Chops

Okay this was a fail, but I don't think it's 100% my fault. Fail point #1, it says to add salt and pepper to the pork chops, and I did. But I used salt sparingly because I was worried that the bbq seasoning would also have salt and it would be too salty. It didn't, so it was kind of bland. Fail point #2, was the the "honey butter" was a bunch of butter melted, with 2 honey packets. Even when mixing them up, there was soooo much more butter then honey. It was basically pouring straight butter onto the pork chops. Next time I'd half the amount of butter and maybe add a pinch of cayenne. The green beans and mashed potatoes were great though! The tomatoes were from our garden that we needed to use, I just stacked slices with salt, pepper, parm, garlic powder and a balsamic vinegar glaze.

Sausage and Rice Skillet

 Sausage and Rice Skillet

I made sausage gravy and biscuits this morning, using Budget Bytes recipe. It makes the perfect amount for all 3 of us with a generous portion of the gravy. With just some refrigerated southern biscuits because I have yet to make homemade biscuits.  But it only uses a 1/2 pound of sausage, so I went on the hunt to google to find out what to use with the other 1/2 pound. I came up on this Pork Sausage and Skillet Rice Dinner recipe by Southern Home Express.  I ended up combining that recipe with the spices from the Budget Bytes Cajun Sausage and Rice Skillet.  I also didn't use a can of tomatoes, I chopped up a few of our tomatoes from the garden. So I basically browned the 1/2 pound ground pork with an onion and some jarred garlic (I hate chopping garlic). Then I added the tomatoes, the seasonings from Budget Bytes, some frozen veggies, the rice and broth. Then I cooked it for 20 minutes like I would rice. It's super good and we would definitely have this again!

Hello Fresh Mushroom Ravioli In A Tomato Cream Sauce

Hello Fresh Mushroom Ravioli In A Tomato Cream Sauce

This was really good, and really easy. I swapped out the tomatoes Hello Fresh sent us with cherry tomatoes from our garden because those really needed to be used. It also made a lot of sauce, I even added a sprinkling of cornstarch to thicken it some. It wasn't too thin, there was just a lot. This is easy recreatable for cheap, and really not worth the probably $20 we spent on it lol. But it's a great idea and I'm glad I know how to make that now!

The garlic bread wasn't part of it, I just added it. I had the "dinner for 4", which barely fed all 3 of us since one is a teenage boy. It was enough, but to serve 4 you'd need a side like a caesar salad.
